Colleges That Change Lives, Wednesday, September 15, 2010, panel presentation at 7pm with fair open until 9pm at the Savannah Center in West Chester. Colleges include: Dennison, Centre College, College of Wooster, Ohio Wesleyan, Hope College. Go to www.ctcl.org for more information.

Northern Kentucky Regional College Fair: Tuesday, September 21, 2010, 6 – 8pm at the Bank of Kentucky Center on the campus of Northern Kentucky University. Over 100 college participating. Go to http://www.admissions.nku.edu/nkycollegefair/index.php formore information.

National College Fair: Sunday, October 3, 2010, 1pm – 4pm, Duke Energy Center. Numerous colleges from across the nation will be represented. Go to www.nationalcollegefairs.org for more information.

College Fair: Tuesday, October 5, 2010, Financing Your Education session at 6pm with fair to follow at 6:30pm – 8pm at Miami University Hamilton. More than 100 colleges will be represented. Go to www.ham.muohio.edu/collegefair for more information.

Cincinnati Multicultural Scholarship Fair: Thursday, September 16, 2010, 4pm -7pm at the Carl Lindner YMCA. Must have at least a 3.0 (85%) GPA. See guidance for a flier.

9th – 12th GRADE: Nestle Very Best in Youth Contest. Created to spotlight the best in youth leadership, the program identifies teens whose efforts are making a profound impact in lives other than their own through their passionate commitment to community service, conviction to their projects, and academic achievements. 9th – 12th GRADE: 1st Freedom National Essay and Video Contest – For complete topic, essay and video guidelines and registration visit www.firstfreedom.org. Deadline November 15.

Reminder: September 1, 2010 Junior and Senior College Financial Aid Night. Paul Calme from Xavier University will speak about the different sources of college financial aid.

12th GRADE ONLY: If you were absent this past week and did not receive the information from Mrs. Crowe about the college admissions process, please see her as soon as possible.

Grades 9-12: Voice of Democracy Patriotic Audio Essay Competition. Audiotape your essay about “Does My Generation Have a Roll in America’s future?” Compete for scholarships. Must have a VFW sponsor, contact VFW post 7340 located at 8326 Brownsway in North College Hill. For more information and the entry form go to www.vfw.org. Click on “programs” then VFW scholarship programs.

Grades 9-12: FREE Good Samaritan Explorers Program. Explore the world of health care-interactive and hands-on program. Four sessions of two hours each beginning October 13, 2010. Grades 9-12: Investigate a career in Genomics! Go to www.genome.gov/genomiccareers/ and check out the career videos, tracker, and profiles.
