Women In Program


The “Women In” Program is an academic program of McAuley High School. This four year program is open to selected incoming freshmen who have above average standardized test results and have excellent academic grades at their elementary schools. This program is also open to students who have completed their freshman year and who meet the required standards.

During the freshmen year of the “Women In” Program students will have the opportunity to explore different aspects of Women in Medicine, Women in Engineering and Women in Law. After completion of the freshmen year, “Women In” students will choose one of these programs to continue studying. To qualify for this program specific academic requirements must be met.

Freshman requirements for Medicine and Engineering:
• Honors or ACP1 in English, Math and Science
Freshman Requirements for Law:
• Honors or ACP1 in English
Sophomore Requirements for Medicine and Engineering:
• Chemistry and Algebra 2 completed by the end of grade 10
Junior and Senior Requirements for Medicine
• Honors or ACP1 Pre-Calculus, AP Chemistry or AP Biology, Ethics
• AP Calculus or Calculus, AP Physics, AP Biology, or AP Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology
Junior and Senior Requirements for Engineering
• Honors or ACP1 Pre-Calculus, AP Biology or AP Chemistry, Ethics
• AP Calculus or Calculus, AP Physics
Junior and Senior Requirements for Law
• AP U.S. History, Law, Ethics
• AP Government/Economics, Exit Seminar
