Student Health

Good health is directly linked to success in school. A healthy student is better able to pay attention in class and have energy and creativeness to apply to learning. The keys to good health are wellness and prevention, including essential immunizations and regular medical checkups.
The McAuley wellness policy includes solid nutritional standards for most food sold in the cafeteria and no sugared sodas in the vending machines. Smoking is prohibited on the school campus. Health services are provided by a certified school Registered Nurse. Health screenings, immunization checks, health counseling, first aid and education are provided.
An Emergency Medical Authorization and Certificate of Medical Exam (new students only) form must be completed on each student. Medication at school can be administered by the school nurse with written permission from the parent for over-the-counter medication or from the student’s physician for prescription medication.
