Academics enhanced by Tablet PC Program
A McAuley education implements the best that the technological and academic worlds have to offer. The McAuley curriculum values the basic tenets of education: English, science, math, social studies, languages, with fine arts and theology while balancing modern advancements in technology through the Tablet PC program. McAuley prides itself on being a leader in innovative technology with the Tablet PC program, whereby all incoming freshman purchase a personal computer through McAuley. Each computer is equipped with a learning management system that consists of Blackboard, One-Note, and Dy-Know, programs that allow education to take place outside the classroom. Blackboard allows teachers, students, and parents to access academic progress, communicate freely, view uploaded projects and papers, and receive assessment and feedback. This virtual learning environment allows students and teachers to dynamically collaborate and communicate whether at school or home.
McAuley prides itself on implementing learning styles that represent the wave of the future while emphasizing traditional education. Teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators are always available for extra and individualized help on anything from a calculus problem to a college admittance question. MORE
To continuously improve our learning environment, we have developed a unique progressive schedule that allows for longer class time and is designed to better prepare students for college. The schedule is based on a four-day rotation, and students have eight scheduled classes but only six classes occur each day. Each day a student has two 80-minute classes and four 50-minute classes. The McAuley family welcomes each student and values her for who she truly is. With students from over 65 different elementary schools, McAuley is an environment in which our students form friendships with students from all over the city. Our students grow together through community service, campus ministry, athletics and our family program. MORE
Women In Programs
McAuley’s Women In Programs empower our students to prepare themselves for careers historically dominated by males. Students choose from medicine, law, engineering and technology and are exposed to other women currently in their field. In addition to connecting with future colleagues and employers, the girls obtain hands on experience in the field of their choice. MORE
